Sweet Heat Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Sweet Heat Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 bag of brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of Sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • 2 strips of bacon, cooked and diced into bits (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Cover a baking pan in aluminum foil, or spray with Pam cooking spray.
  2. Spread the brussels sprouts out on the baking sheet, drizzle the olive oil over the top and toss. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder and toss again.
  3. Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast until charred/toasted on the outside, about 25 minutes. Be sure to toss once or twice throughout the cooking time so they roast evenly.
  4. While they are roasting, combine your honey and Sriracha in a small bowl and whisk to combine. Adjust to taste with more of either ingredient. Set aside.
  5. Remove the brussels sprouts from the oven and allow them to cool for a 2-3 minutes.
  6. Throw in the bacon bits, drizzle the sauce mixture over the top of the roasted brussels sprouts and serve.
This is a Mal Beck original, and a side dish served up often in our house.
